El Mercado creates a platform for POC artisans, cooperatives, small business owners, local groups, & orgs to network, trade, and invest in a collaborative economy; We build a culture based on mutual aid and environmental sustainability through educational and community building events.
Vision
A community based on cooperation in which we empower one another by organizing together to meet our community's needs. We envision a permanent residence as a cultural center as the foundation for our work.
Goals

- Collaborate with local community orgs and individuals on self-sustainability projects.
- Host local, national, and international artistic and educational exhibits.
- Host educational workshops and life skills training sessions.
- Facilitate community listening projects and discussions.
Structure
EL Mercado is organized as a cooperative. All individuals are encouraged to participate in the decision making process and any money acquired will be distributed for the benefit of its participants as decided by the collective.
